The Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) is seeking applications for its Public programme to support the research community in pursuing high quality, high impact research in areas that demonstrably enhance and underpin innovation in the Luxembourg public sector.
The programme aims to support collaborative research projects between research institutions on one hand and the public sector (public bodies or authorities) on the other hand.
Objectives
- Stimulate strong partnerships between public research institutes and other public bodies, particularly activities that promote innovation and sustainable value creation;
- Utilise and strengthen national testbed facilities and living labs
Grant Information
- Funding can be awarded to successful applications that guarantee a balanced partnership for a maximum amount of 500k€.
- FNR will support projects for a minimum of 12 and maximum of 36 months period.
Eligibility Criteria
- Funds provided by the FNR in the framework of Public programme are aimed at the following beneficiaries:
- Public institutions performing research in Luxembourg
- non-profit associations and foundations engaged in research in Luxembourg and accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research
- A project will be run by a consortium comprising
- One or more Luxembourg public research organizations
- One or several “public bodies” in Luxembourg that do not perform research but have potentially a very high impact on the Luxembourgish society, its regulations, policy and law making and the wealth-being of its citizens.
- In addition, the following entities can also participate in the consortium: Luxembourg-based non-profit associations and foundations engaged in research
- Luxembourg-based private research organisations
- Public research organizations (including Universities) based abroad; they will however not be eligible for FNR funding
- Principal Investigator
- The PI must be employed by one of the public research institutions in Luxembourg with a work contract covering the full duration of the project.
- If an established co-ownership between the public institutional and the public body partner exists, there should be a collaboration agreement put in place before the evaluation of the project.
Selection Criteria
The proposal will be evaluated with respect to the following criteria:
- Project idea and the scientific/technological quality of the proposal
- Impact
- Quality and efficiency of the implementation of the proposed project
