The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Security-Nonproliferation (ISN) is inviting eligible entities for its “Strategic Trade Control Support: Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Assist the Government Tajikistan and Uzbekistan with refinements to its strategic trade control legislation and implementing regulations and also in developing and adopting a national control list that comports to the major multilateral export control regimes.

Goals
ISN/ECC expects that the following will have been accomplished at the grant/cooperative agreement’s conclusion:
- Participants understand accepted international standards and best practices with regard to strategic trade control legal and regulatory requirements, licensing practices and procedures, and the use of national control lists;
- Government officials are prepared to push forward with refinements to domestic strategic trade control legislation;
- Government officials are prepared to move forward enhancements to the strategic trade control licensing practices and procedures; and
- Government officials are prepared to push forward with adopting a national control list that meets international standards, including comporting to the major multilateral export control regimes.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility is limited to U.S.-based non-profit organizations with 501(c)(3) status, educational institutions, and public international organizations (PIOs).
- Applicants should be knowledgeable of existing strategic trade control legal and regulatory development programs and best practices, including programs funded by the U.S. Government in this area, and current international trends and developments, in order to capitalize on ongoing work, and not duplicate efforts.
