The United States Government as represented by the U.S Agency for International Development, Yemen (USAID/Yemen) has announced its desire to support applications for local level initiatives that mitigate conflict, strengthen social cohesion, promote the peaceful resolution of differences, and, where feasible, capitalize on stabilization opportunities in Yemen.
The purpose of this APS is to support local level initiatives that mitigate conflict, strengthen social cohesion, promote the peaceful resolution of differences, and, where feasible, capitalize on stabilization opportunities in Yemen through:
- Regular and actionable learning, small-scale community-based service delivery and conflict mitigation projects and
- Capacity building for local institutions and organizations to serve as neutral arbitrators and peace builders and meet community and constituent needs.
Award Information
USAID expects to provide one to two (1-2) awards with initial total funding up to $30 million.
Eligibility Criteria
- USAID welcomes applications from many types of organizations including U.S. and non-U.S. Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), faith-based organizations, international organizations, foundations, colleges and universities, civic groups, regional organizations, etc.
- All applicants must be legally recognized organizational entities under applicable law.
- An individual cannot apply as an applicant. All applicants must be physically present in Yemen or have current active projects in Yemen and/or formed partnerships or alliances with an organization(s) physically present in or have current projects in Yemen.
- Organizations must be able successfully obtain permits and access to work in Yemen.
