The Global Fund for the Environment (GEF) Microfinancing Program (SGP) has launched a Call for Proposals for SGP_OP6-Y4 projects.
With the work of PMF Haiti in the field of climate change, several projects on renewable energies and energy efficiency are available to show the technologies innovative low-carbon technologies that are adapted to local conditions and make a significant contribution to the provision of sustainable energy services and the reduction of harmful GHG emissions while generating other co-benefits such as improving resilience and livelihoods. In order to contribute to achieving the objectives of Sustainable Energy For All, the PMF Haiti launches this call for proposals to develop community initiatives for facilitate access to energy.
Objectives
- In this call, the program aims to achieve the goals of reducing poverty and reducing poverty, local capacity building as an integral part of the protection of the environment.
- It also aims not only to provide the country, and in particular the local communities levers actions for their initiatives by promoting the appropriation of the actions but also to the realization of a environmental and sustainable development in the SGP intervention areas through a synergistic organizational collaboration.
It provides support for small-scale community activities and addresses issues global environmental issues at the local level.
Funding Information
The PMF FEM supports local initiatives through funding not exceeding $ 50,000 in the priority areas of conservation of biodiversity, climate change mitigation, protection of international waters, prevention of land degradation and phase-out of organic pollutants Persistent (POP).
Criteria
- Actions must focus on access to energy by offering technologies innovative low-cost, low-carbon technologies that are adapted to local conditions and contribute significantly to the provision of services sustainable energy and the reduction of harmful GHG emissions while generating other co-benefits such as improving resilience and livelihoods;
- Actions must focus on one or more concrete actions whose impact may be measured as soon as project activities are completed;
- It is important to express clearly and precisely how project activities will contribute to protection of the global environment;
- The project activities should contribute to raising awareness of the population on the global environmental issue through capacity building and interoperability. exchange of experiences;
- The project must have an impact on the standard of living of the population and contribute to the reduction the poverty of the communities involved, with the proper management of resources local environmental issues;
- Any technological innovation can be considered in the projects;
- Project activities must be replicable in other communities
- If it is a productive activity of an economic nature, it is desirable to demonstrate the feasibility of the project through a simple management plan and income forecasts as well as by the existence of a market;
- The participation of the community in different activities of the project is to be encouraged (identification of the project idea, project development, implementation, monitoring and Evaluation)
- The submitting organization must be able to dispose of the competencies that enable it to carry out project activities; if not, identify in the project description how is it going to be correct
- The gender perspective should be taken into account in all phases of the project so to seek a parity of participation of men and women, elders, young people and children;
- The submitting organization must be physically present in the intervention area project activities.
- The amount requested must not exceed US $ 50,000;
- It is desirable that there is a counterpart to the financing of the project which may be in kind or financial
- The implementation of project activities should not exceed two years;
- Only one proposal will be accepted for funding per community organization basic. However NGOs can provide technical assistance to more than one group if they have the technical ability to do it.
