The British Embassy in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan is accepting project proposals for the 2019/2020 financial year (April 2019-March 2020) to support projects that focus on the promotion of good corporate governance in the financial sector of Kazakhstan.
Expected Outcomes
They are particularly interested in project proposals aiming towards the following outcomes:
- increased capacity of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Government, AIFC, KASE and other key stakeholders to promote good corporate governance in the financial sector of Kazakhstan
- enhanced linkages between the UK’s and Kazakhstan’s financial sectors, and increased exposure of key stakeholders of Kazakhstan’s financial sector to the UK’s best practice on good corporate governance
- improved corporate governance in Kazakhstan’s financial institutions, as evidenced by overall improvement in investor confidence in Kazakhstan
Funding Information
- maximum budget limit: £70,000
- projects are funded for a single financial year running from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020, with no expectation of continued funding beyond this period
Assessment Criteria
Bids will be assessed against the following criteria:
- alignment with the above mentioned thematic priorities and outcomes
- outcomes are achievable within the funding period
- project design includes clear monitoring and evaluation procedures
- sustainability demonstrating that project benefits continue after the funding ends
- risk and financial accountability procedures
- the organisation’s safeguarding policies that ensure protection of beneficiaries
- overall value for money
