The French Consulate General in Jerusalem has launched a call for proposals in order to support and encourage initiatives by civil society.
This call for proposals aims to support the most vulnerable populations. Eligible projects would have to target people living in Gaza, East Jerusalem and Area C, near settlements as well as in refugee camps.
Proposals with the following characteristics will be prioritized by the Consulate General of France:
- The project must serve in the first place the interests and needs of the targeted populations.
- Projects promoting synergies and collaboration between civil society actors will be favored.
- The project must be viable and sustainable in the long run (monitoring and evaluation system, exit strategy, etc.).
Thematic Areas
The following themes will be favored by the Consulate General of France:
- socio-professional integration and professional training,
- psychosocial support
- education- extracurricular activities-participation of young people,
- human rights, advocacy
The project must primarily serve the interests and needs of the target populations; Projects promoting synergies and collaboration between civil society actors will be given priority.
The project must be viable in the medium term (monitoring and evaluation system, exit strategy, etc.).
Targeted Audience
The funds aim to help the most vulnerable populations, prioritizing women, children and young people. Only projects prioritizing populations living in Gaza, East Jerusalem, Zone C, areas close to the settlements and within refugee camps are eligible.
Conditions
- The application form must be duly completed.
- The duration of the project must be between 6 months and 1 year.
- The amount requested must be between 10,000 and 50,000 euros.
- Funding for the NGO’s operating costs is limited to 7% of the total budget.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only registered civil society organizations (associations, non-governmental organizations, community organizations, networks of organizations, etc.) can submit a proposal.
- Institutional and governmental bodies are not eligible (universities, municipalities, etc.).
Selection Criteria
The projects will be selected according to the following criteria:
- Satisfaction of the criteria for audiences and priority themes
- Quality of the proposal (respect of the format, writing, details).
- Relevance of the project and the proposed activities (identification of needs, response to needs through activities, feasibility of the project, etc.).
- Selection of beneficiaries (number of beneficiaries, involvement of beneficiaries in the project, selection process and criteria).
- Quality and relevance of the proposed budget.
- Partner’s experience and abilities.
- Visibility.
- Sustainability and sustainability of the project
- Innovative nature of the proposed project.
- Proposed monitoring and evaluation system.
