Deadline: 23-Oct-2025
The Carn Hill Community Benefit Fund invites applications from community groups in the Monkstown, Grange, Woodburn, Greenisland, Ballynure and Carnmoney areas to support locally‑focused initiatives.
The fund aims to encourage stronger and more inclusive communities by ensuring that local people are actively involved in the design and delivery of projects. It seeks to promote partnership working between community, voluntary, and statutory agencies to ensure a coordinated approach in addressing local challenges. Emphasis is placed on developing sustainable solutions that provide long-term benefits for communities.
The Fund was set up by Gaelectric and is now managed by CGN Europe, a wind energy company supporting the local community in the area.
It is open to constituted community and voluntary organisations operating in the designated locality. Projects must align with one or more of the stated priorities: developing skills for young adults, fostering intergenerational connections and reducing rural isolation, promoting community arts activity, or improving the use of existing community space.
Grants of up to £3,000 are available to successful applicants. The intention is to enable local groups to deliver tangible benefits for community life through projects that might enhance cultural engagement, strengthen intergenerational ties, and make better use of shared physical or social spaces.
Interested organisations should ensure they are based within one of the named areas in the Fund’s boundary. Applications will be assessed for their community impact, feasibility, alignment with Fund priorities, and capacity to deliver within the local context.
