Resilience Grants are designed to assist regional artists, arts organizations, and communities to sustain creative practices and participate in the regional economy during the immediate period of disruption caused by COVID-19.
Project may include creative development, community engagement and capacity-building activities (such as professional development and business development) that abide with COVID-19 restrictions.
Regional Arts Resilience Grants are provided through the Regional Arts and Culture Investment Program with support of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, with Royalties for Regions funding from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.
The purpose of the program is creating jobs, economic development, and tourism and improving social cohesion by supporting the creative and cultural industries in regional Western Australia. Through strategic investments, the program aims to build capacity in the regions and contribute to live ability and vibrancy of regional communities.
Purpose
The purpose of the Regional Arts Resilience Grant is:
- To enable a significant number of regional artists and arts organizations to sustain creative practices and participate in the regional economy during the immediate period of disruption caused by COVID-19.
- To empower regional artists and arts organizations to develop their own creative solutions to the COVID-19 crisis.
- To facilitate shared learnings from the various approaches taken by regional artists and arts organizations, creating a resource for potential approaches to ongoing recovery efforts.
Grant Categories
Applicants can choose from two categories. The same eligibility will apply across all categories.
- Community Engagement for projects involving regional artists that significantly engage the community in which they are based and/or the broader regional WA community.
- Development for projects that provide skills, business and/or creative development opportunities for regional artists, arts groups or community organizations.
Funding Information
- Amount: up to $15,000.
Who can apply?
- Individuals, groups, incorporated not-for-profit organizations and Local Governments.
- Applicants must reside in regional WA as determined by Regional Development Commission boundaries. The applicant’s physical address must be within a Local Government area
- Groups and organizations must either be legally incorporated and have an ABN registered in Regional WA or have an auspice organization manage their grant.
- Individual applicants must have an ABN registered in Regional WA or have an auspice organization manage their grant.
- Individuals who are under 18 at the time of applying must have an auspice organization manage their grant.
- Schools are only eligible to apply if they are located in a very remote area (MMM7)
An applicant may nominate a not-for-profit organization or Local Government Authority as an auspice, if required. Auspice organizations are required to be based and registered in regional WA.
