The Humanitarian Innovation Fund’s Diffusion Grants are for the diffusion and extended outreach of successful innovations – taking them to scale and leading to wider adoptions outside the original setting. This might mean scaling within a large organisation, or transferring knowledge to other actors. This will likely see the original innovation continually developed and refined.
A grant up to £50,000 is available for the Diffusion phase of the process.
All proposals will be assessed against the following selection criteria with equal weighting:
- Impact: The HIF funds innovation that responds to significant challenges within the humanitarian field. It wants to understand the potential impact of ones project.
- Approach: Innovation is a creative process, and it also requires a rigorous approach to designing, testing, learning, and building evidence for what works and what doesn’t work.
- Feasibility: The fund expects to see a convincing implementation plan outlining how project activities will be effectively delivered on time and to budget.
- Team: The project team should be clearly capable of carrying out the work described and have a relevant track record which supports the project proposal.
Note: Diffusion grants are only open to organisations that have previously received a HIF core grant.
