Deadline: 3 November 2016
The United States Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affair is seeking applications from eligible organisations for the program entitled “Tajikistan Support of Legal Reform” with an aim to improve judicial and law enforcement effectiveness, bolster accountability and transparency of criminal justice agencies, increase access to justice, and institutionalize respect for human rights and rule of law.
INL Dushanbe is implementing a “whole of system” approach for its justice sector reform efforts required to create a strategic impact on human rights protection in Tajikistan. To be effective, a whole of system development approach must be utilized where justice sector assistance programs recognize the relationship between justice sector institutions and actors and other pillars of the criminal justice system, including police. Assistance programs and activities should respond to the needs and priorities not just of national authorities but also the criminal justice system’s end user, i.e., civil society.
