Nominations are now open for the Labor Justice Award for Journalism to encourage and value the production of journalistic works that promote reflection and awareness of work and its relationships, in addition to recognizing the importance of the press in disseminating relevant information to society.
Themes
The 2021 edition of the Labor Justice Award for Journalism is part of the celebrations of 80 years of the Labor Court and will award articles and reports with the theme “Labor Justice: the importance and advances of Social Justice”.
It will cover articles that highlight at least one of the following themes:
- Historical evolution of the Labor Court in Brazil;
- Society’s awareness of the existence and importance of the labor judiciary;
- Labor justice as an instrument of Social Justice;
- Advances and transformations in labor rights;
- Valorization of the Labor Court in the construction of citizenship;
- Labor Justice in times of pandemic;
- Relationship between labor justice and economic development.
Award Details
The winning works will receive, as a prize, the values below broken down, by deposit in a bank account held by the candidate that it appears in the registration form.
- Print journalism – R$ 10.000,00 (ten thousand reais) for the first place;
- Radio journalism – R$ 10.000,00 (ten thousand reais) for the first place;
- Tele journalism – R$ 10.000,00 (ten thousand reais) for the first place;
- Web journalism – R$ 10.000,00 (ten thousand reais) for the first place;
- Digital Media – R$ 10.000,00 (ten thousand reais) for the first place.
Award Categories
The 2021 Labor Justice Award for Journalism will include the following categories:
- Print journalism – awarded the best report/series published in Portuguese language in a newspaper or printed magazine installed in Brazil.
- Radio journalism – for the best report/program broadcast in the language Portuguese radio stations in Brazil.
- Tele journalism – for the best report/series/program/documentary aired in Portuguese on television stations located in Brazil.
- Web journalism – for the best report published in Portuguese on news sites or blogs, as long as it is structured through the characteristics of web journalism (hypertextuality, interactivity, instantaneity, and multimediality).
- Digital media – for journalistic and/or informative content (lives, series,programs, videos and podcasts) aired on digital platform channels audio or video, such as Youtube, Spotify, IGTV, Deezer, among others similar
Participation Conditions
- Journalistic works, authored by one or more professionals, who address the established theme, through reports or series of reports published or broadcast by journalistic companies in the period of September 1, 2019 to August 1, 2021 , in print journalism media from radio journalism, television journalism, web journalism and digital media that meet all requirements contained in this notice.
- The reports must necessarily be edited and published in Portuguese.
- Professional journalists, film reporters, broadcasters, and reporters, must have recognized professional registration. No professional registration is required. journalist for the digital media category.
- The participation of public or private legal entities, servers or service providers that are part of the Court’s communication offices Superior of Labor (TST), of the Superior Council of Labor Justice (CSJT), of the Regional Labor Courts, Attorney General’s Office, Regional Labor Attorneys, and the International Labor Organization, as well as their spouses or relatives, in a straight line, collateral or by affinity, until the third degree.
