The Department of Health and Human Services, the office on Women’s Health (OWH) is seeking applications for its “Prevention of Opioid Misuse in Women” to address the primary and/or secondary prevention of prescription and non-prescription opioid misuse by women across the lifespan by identifying underserved audiences and the potential gaps in the ability to reach these populations welcome.
Program Goals
Regional, state, local, and community organizations should propose organized activities to achieve this goal through:
- Program development and implementation
- Health education targeting health professionals and/or women directly
- Policy efforts to support primary and/or secondary prevention
Funding Information
- Estimated Total Program Funding: $1,200,000
- Award Ceiling: $100,000
- Award Floor: $50,000
Eligibility Criteria
- Any public or private nonprofit entity located in a State is eligible to apply for a grant under this announcement including: State Governments County Governments City or township governments Special district governments Independent school districts Public and State controlled institutions of higher education Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized) Public Housing authorities/Indian housing authorities Native American tribal organizations (other than federally recognized tribal governments)
- Nonprofits having 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education Nonprofits without 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education Private institutions of higher education Individuals
- The following types of Higher Education Institutions are always encouraged to apply for support as Public or Non-Profit Private Institutions of Higher Education: Hispanic-serving Institutions Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) Tribally Controlled Colleges and Universities (TCCUs) Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs) Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are not eligible to apply.
