The DaNa Facility, funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) is seeking applications for its Economic Empowerment Window (EEW) to empower women and other disadvantaged groups to better participate in, and benefit from, Myanmar’s economic development, and help shape the growth of more inclusive, competitive and wealth-creating markets.
Focus Areas
- Women and girls;
- Conflict-affected and post-conflict communities; and/or
- Other disadvantaged groups.
Sectors
- Garments and textiles;
- Agribusiness;
- Community forestry; or
- Access to finance
Grant Information
- Funding for projects will generally fall between GBP 100,000 and GBP 600,000 (British Pounds), though larger projects may be considered on a discretionary basis.
- The duration of projects supported by the DaNa Facility is flexible, but are expected to range from approximately 12 to 40 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Grant partners will be non-profit organisations, such as national or international civil society organizations (CSOs), or international or national non-government organisations (NGOs).
- This could include industry or business associations, policy think-tanks or research institutes, but the project must focus on delivering tangible results, not on conducting research.
- Given the emphasis on achieving sustainable, tangible results in inclusive economic development, CSOs and NGOs are strongly encouraged to partner with for-profit businesses (including social enterprises). However, the lead partner making the application must be a non-profit organisation.
