Applications are now open for the Expect Miracles Foundation’s Samfund Grants Program to provide financial assistance in the form of grants to young adult cancer survivors.
Funding Information
Their average grant size for a main grant is typically between $1,500-$2,000. A family building grant is typically between $2,500-$4,000.
Categories
- Car Payments ($1,500)
- Graduate Tuition, Continuing Education, or Vocational Training ($3,000)
- Cosmetic, Dental, or Reconstructive Procedures ($2,500)
- Egg, Embryo or Sperm Storage ($1,000)
- Rent/Mortgage Supplementation ($3,000)
- One-time Bill Payment ($1,000)
Eligibility Criteria
- You are eligible to apply if all of the below apply to you:
- You are a U.S. resident
- You are a cancer survivor between the ages of 21 and 39 at the time the application is submitted
- You are not a financial dependent
- You have not been funded through their main grant program three times (COVID Emergency Fund grants do not count towards this total).
- You were not funded during the Spring 2022 grant cycle. If you were funded during the Spring 2022 main grant cycle, they would ask you to wait until Spring 2023 to reapply.
- You meet ONE of the following criteria:
- finished with active treatment with no evidence of disease
- one year past planned therapy with stable disease, or
- In remission and on hormonal therapy (such as Tamoxifen), in molecular remission and on long-term targeted therapy (such as Gleevec or Herceptin), or in remission and on immunotherapy
Note: Expect Miracles Foundation does not fund business-related requests, credit card repayment requests, payments to friends or family members, weddings, vacations, or requests for help purchasing a car. Additionally, Expect Miracles Foundation does not accept requests for undergraduate tuition. They will, however, consider requests for graduate tuition, vocational training, and continuing education.
