The Dumfries and Galloway Council is excited to launch the Nithsdale Sports Grants to support Individuals and Sports Clubs from Nithsdale who are taking part in sport with money allocated to the fund by Nithsdale Area Committee during the 2022-23 financial year.
The Discretionary Budget allocated to Sport Grants is an annual, non-recurring budget which is set and agreed by Elected Members at Nithsdale Area Committee. Nithsdale Active Schools and Community Sport will deliver the initiative for 2022/23, following an invited expression of interest to Third Sector Organisations to administer the grants on behalf of the Council.
Funding Information
- Total amount of Nithsdale Area Committee Funding Awarded for 1 April 2022 until 31 March 2023 is £6,000.
- Grants of up to £200 may be awarded to any eligible individual within the financial year running from 1 April 2022 until 31 March 2023.
- Grants of up to £400 may be awarded to a sports club within the financial year running from 1 April 2022 until 31 March 2023.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications will be accepted from individuals (athletes, officials and coaches) who reside within Nithsdale or Nithsdale-based sports clubs affiliated to their national governing body of sport.
- Applicants must be participating in a sport formally recognised by sportscotland
- Sport clubs must be affiliated to the relevant governing body and must have achieved or be registered to work towards achieving Dumfries & Galloway Club Accreditation or their national governing body equivalent.
- The funding must be spent within the current financial year of 1 April 2022 until 31 March 2023 unless otherwise agreed.
- Any monies not used towards the purpose of the application must be returned.
