Deadline: 28-Sep-22
Applicants are invited to submit applications for the ‘Let’s Talk About Cancer’ Fund.
Working in partnership with Buckinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group (BCCG) and Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust, the ‘Let’s Talk About Cancer’ fund has been developed to explore how the expertise of local non-profit groups can improve cancer outcomes for groups that traditionally have poorer health outcomes.
Objectives
Additionally, projects must also focus on at least one of the following objectives:
- Increasing people’s awareness of cancer signs and symptoms
- Increasing the likelihood that people will engage with GPs surgeries if they have concerns about possible cancer signs and symptoms
- Increasing the likelihood that people will engage with cancer screening programmes (particularly breast, cervical and bowel)
- Gaining a better understanding of why specific groups are less likely to engage with GPs surgeries and cancer screening programmes, what the barriers to engagement are and how these could potentially be overcome
- Creativity and innovation is encouraged and whilst projects must contribute to the aims of improving cancer outcomes for groups that traditionally have poorer health outcomes, the funders do not wish to be prescriptive about how this is achieved.
Priority: will be given to projects operating within the geographic areas of highest deprivation in Bucks.
