Nominations are now open for its 2022 Volunteering Awards in Canberra region.
The 2022 Volunteering Awards, Canberra region will be held on Wednesday 7 December in honour of International Volunteer Day, celebrated on Monday 5 December. A very special day for the calendar! Guests of the Awards will be treated to drinks and canapes and a chance to network at the start of the event.
With your help, the Awards attract a diverse range of nominations from every sector, including community organisations, environment, sport, tourism, business, arts, education, science, and emergency management. They can’t do this without your help though!
They pride ourselves on delivering a premium event for the sector, free of charge, so everyone can celebrate the contribution volunteers make to the Canberra community.
When: 6-8 pm, Wednesday 7 December 2022
Where: Gandel Hall, National Gallery of Australia – Parkes Place, Parkes ACT.
Award Categories
- Inclusion Award: An individual or team whose volunteering work has delivered a great social impact to people experiencing disadvantage. This work may have been delivered in the past year or over several years.
- Innovation Award: An individual volunteer or team of volunteers that has significantly enriched the community, by using technology or original ideas in a creative or unique way.
- Volunteer Leadership Award: An individual volunteer or team of volunteers that has made a significant contribution to advancing volunteer leadership, knowledge, research, and exposure.
- Corporate Volunteering Award: An individual or team, whose volunteering work was delivered as part of a corporate or employee volunteering program and delivered a significant impact. The nominee must not be employed to carry out volunteer activities.
- Young Volunteer of the Year Award: An individual or team (aged 14-30) whose volunteering contributions have made a significant impact.
- Senior Volunteer of the Year Award: An individual or team (aged 55+) whose volunteering contributions have made a significant impact.
- Canberra's Choice Award: Presented to the volunteering individual or team that receives the most number of votes by the general public. All nominees received in the first six categories are automatically in the running for the Canberra’s Choice Award.
- Volunteer Team of the Year Award: A team, program, or organisation whose volunteering contributions have made a significant impact in 2021-2022
- Volunteer of the Year: An individual whose volunteering contribution has made a significant impact in 2020-2021. All nominees received in the first 7 categories are automatically in the running for the Volunteer of the Year Award.
