Deadline: 19-Mar-23
Are you an innovator with a sustainable cooling solution for transport, retail, pharma, agribusiness, manufacturing, and space cooling? IFC – TechEmerge is calling on innovators worldwide to pilot and scale sustainable cooling solutions in emerging markets.
TechEmerge can match your business or organization with top companies in Latin America, Africa, and South Asia that are ready to test and invest in new cooling technology in multiple sectors. There’s funding for pilots and advice from industry experts to help you enter new markets and grow your business.
Regional Initiatives
- You can apply to join the TechEmerge matchmaking program by submitting your solution(s) to one or more of their open regional initiatives:
- TechEmerge Sustainable Cooling Agri Value Chains Andean Countries
- Agri Value Chains Andean Countries: This TechEmerge Sustainable Cooling Innovation program provides a total pool of $1 million in grant funding and expert advice to support pilot projects across the Andean region, with a focus on agricultural value chains in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.
- TechEmerge Sustainable Cooling Temperature-Controlled Logistics Africa
- TechEmerge Sustainable Cooling Temperature-Controlled Logistics Africa: TechEmerge brings together some of the world’s most promising innovators and leading companies in Africa to pilot and scale sustainable TCL solutions for agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and retail/commercial operations. The program supports field-tests in Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Madagascar, and Uganda. In addition, it will facilitate pilots with the Africa Center of Excellence for Cooling and Cold-chains (ACES), which is supported by the governments of the United Kingdom and Rwanda.
- TechEmerge Sustainable Cooling – India Cooling Innovation Lab
- To tackle this challenge, TechEmerge, in collaboration with district energy company Tabreed, is launching the India Cooling Innovation Lab. The Lab seeks to bring together technology innovators worldwide and leading local companies to pilot innovative climate-smart technologies and solutions either within Tabreed’s district cooling plants or through leading adopters in India to improve the cost and energy efficiency of cooling.
- In addition, the Lab will seek to pilot Cooling-as-a-Service (CaaS) business models through the adoption of innovative, climate-smart cooling solutions, while also building knowledge and expertise in this important field.
- TechEmerge matches innovators across the world with leading commercial, manufacturing, and industrial companies in emerging markets to conduct pilot projects, build commercial relationships, and de-risk investment in cost-effective, climate-smart cooling technologies, services, and business models.
