Individuals with a creative, bold vision to spark global change can make nominations for the prize. The Prize is awarded annually to a leader with a fresh, bold vision for sparking global change.
The TED Prize winner receives $1,000,000 and support from the TED community’s wide range of resources and expertise to make their dream become a reality.
Up till now, the Prize has helped to combat poverty, open dialog on religious intolerance, improved global health, tackle child obesity, advance education, and inspire art around the world.

Eligibility Criteria
- TED Prize nominees can be activists, scientists, artists, educators, entrepreneurs, technologists etc.
- Nominees can be from any nation and should demonstrate
- A distinguished track record
- The ability to articulate a world-changing wish that inspires collaborative action
- The vision and charisma to lead and manage others
- The ability to budget a $1 million initiative and execute a multi-year project
- The willingness to leverage both the TED and the TEDx community to support the wish.
Nomination Process
- Applicants are required to do nominations with a wish.
- Nomination for the TED Prize happens two ways:
- Nominate yourself
- Nominate someone else
- The TED Prize committee reviews all nominations and the most promising wishes are then presented to a jury drawn from leading members of the TED community, who select the year’s winning wish.
- The TED Prize winner speaks at the annual TED Conference, revealing their wish and plan for accomplishing it.
