Deadline: 12 August 2016
The Energy and Environment Partnership Programme with the Mekong Region (EEP Mekong) is seeking applications for projects on Clean Energy application with an aim to improve livelihoods and climate resilience in rural communities and semi-urban areas.
The objective of the programme is to achieve greater access to energy services through the fast tracking of sustainable energy project demonstration and deployment and private sector investment.
The minimum size of a proposed project is 200,000 Euro. There is no maximum size, but the EEP grant portion is capped at 1,000,000 Euro.
- Private companies, NGOs, and sector associations are eligible to apply for EEP’s project financing.
- Applicants can partner with other organisations to meet human resource requirements, the financial capacity and technical capacity to implement the proposed project. The Lead Applicants (in case of consortia) or sole applicants have to be registered private companies or sector associations of private companies in one of the Mekong partner countries (mentioned below) , or Finland. All payments under EEP Mekong are made on a results basis.
- Applicants thus need to have (or have access to) sufficient capital to prefinance all required investments, including a buffer in case of unexpected delays or adjustments. If no financial institution (e.g. bank, microfinance institution or similar) is included in the project proposal the applicant has to demonstrate how they seek to fund the required investment.
