The Future for Nature Foundation is seeking nominations for Future for Nature Award 2018 with aims to stimulate a new generation of nature conservation leaders by providing support to young, talented and ambitious conservationists committed to protecting species of wild animals and plants or conservation of nature in general. These individuals can make the difference for the future of nature.
Funding Information
The Foundation funds the work of three conservationist with a prize of €50.000 through the annual Future for Nature Award.
Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate should not be older than 35 years on 30th April 2018, i.e. born after 30th April 1983.
- The Future For Nature Award is awarded to individuals only, not to organizations.
- The candidate has achieved substantial and long-term benefit to the conservation status of one or more animal and/or plant species or that of a specific population of one or more animal and/or plant species.
- Candidates have demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurship in their conservation work.
- Candidates have been creative and innovative in their work.
- The main approaches in their work have proven to be cost-effective.
- Candidates must be determined to continue their conservation work, as the Award aims to stimulate the winner’s future work and is not an “end of career” prize.
- The prize should be used towards a conservation project of the winner’s own choice.
- Winners will present their work at the Future For Nature Award event at Royal Burgers’ Zoo in Arnhem, the Netherlands. The event will take place in March, April or May 2018. Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the Future For Nature Foundation.
