Recently, the World Refugee Day (June 20) was marked by the UN to highlight the challenges and difficulties faced by displaced families around the world.
The #WithRefugees petition was launched by the UN to send a message to governments that they must work together and do their fair share for refugees.
The petition asks governments to:
- Ensure every refugee child gets an education.
- Ensure every refugee family has somewhere safe to live.
- Ensure every refugee can work or learn new skills to make a positive contribution
to their community.
According to UNHCR, there are more than 65 million people around the world who have been forced from home. It is estimated that nearly 34,000 people are forcibly displaced every day due to conflict or persecution.
The recent European migrant crisis highlights not only the displacement issues of refugees but also the rise of new cultural conflicts due to the ongoing conflict between migrants and host communities.
There are thousands of NGOs that are actively working to address refugee crisis around the world. In this guide, we are offering a list of grants and resources that are useful for such organizations to continue their work in addressing this important issue.
