International Union for Conservation of Nature Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation has launched a new cycle of 6 training courses to empower Mediterranean CSOs around Nature-based Solutions (NbS).
As part of its Mubadarat programme supporting civil society, and with the support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), IUCN-Med is launching a series of six training courses to support civil society organizations (CSOs) in designing nature-based projects that deliver environmental, economic, and social impact.
Objectives
- The objective is clear: to equip Mediterranean CSOs, key players in the inclusive ecological transition, with practical skills to design and implement concrete, sustainable, and community-driven projects based on Nature-based Solutions (NbS). These trainings are part of the mission of the Mubadarat programme, which aims to:
- Strengthen the technical and strategic capacities of local CSOs
- Foster the inclusion of youth and women in conservation projects
- Promote local development models based on sustainable employment and ecological resilience
Themes
- Training themes include:
- Sustainable tourism and ecotourism
- Sustainable food production systems
- Spatial planning and integrated coastal zone management
- Water governance and wetland management
- Ecological restoration of forest landscapes
- Species and natural area conservation
Program Structure
- A structured training journey in 6 modules
- Scheduled between June 2025 and April 2026, this training cycle will combine:
- Preparatory online learning sessions
- Two to Three-day in-person workshops
- Ongoing support for the design of NbS project proposals
Eligibility Criteria
- CSOs based in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, or Lebanon are invited to apply.
