Nominations are now open for the 2023 Woman of Spirit Award to highlight and celebrate the many and varied achievements of an extraordinary woman from the Greater Hamilton Area.
At the Award Luncheon they will be celebrating the spirit of Eileen Vollick. Eileen was the first woman to be licensed as a pilot in Canada. She earned her license in 1928 in Hamilton.
The Women’s Canadian Club of Hamilton is a not-for-profit organization. The Club was established in 1912 with the purpose of fostering throughout the greater Hamilton area an interest in all matters of public concern to:
- Strengthen Canadian unity and identity
- Encourage the education and promotion of Canadian heritage and history
- Foster an appreciation and awareness of Canadian culture and traditions to new Canadians
The 2023 Woman of Spirit Awards Luncheon will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the Michelangelo Events & Conference Centre, 1555 Upper Ottawa Street.
Eligibility Criteria
- The nominee must be resident in the Greater Hamilton Area.
- The nominee shall have provided distinguished community service.
- The nominee shall be selected on the basis of their outstanding contribution to the community.
