Deadline: 05-Sep-2025
Youth Alliance – Krusevo has launched a Call for Proposals for registered civil society organisations (CSOs) in North Macedonia to apply for sub-grants under the Capacity Building Program of the project ‘RAISE CSOs – Resilient and Inclusive Social Entrepreneurship Pathways for Youth with local grassroot CSOs in North Macedonia’.
The specific objective of this call is supporting civil society programs for youth led social enterprises. It seeks to support CSOs across North Macedonia, which through their actions will improve the living conditions of a minimum of 1000 young people, especially vulnerable groups such as Roma, women, people with disabilities, and the long-term unemployed who are far from employment. It aims to expand economic participation opportunities for these groups by supporting the survival rate of 30 social enterprises. The project ideas are expected to strengthen and improve the capacity of local grassroots CSOs to promote social entrepreneurship as a tool for the socio-economic integration of young people in the labour market of North Macedonia. Applicants should clearly indicate in the proposal the ways they plan to ensure the sustainability of their actions after the project implementation period. The creation of local networks and partnerships with different stakeholders (local CSOs, ecosystem partners, policymakers, public officials, businesses) in the targeted area, as an indicator of sustainable project development, is encouraged under this call for proposals.
The RAISE CSOs project, funded by the European Commission and implemented by Youth Alliance – Krusevo in partnership with the Centre for Research and Analysis – NOVUS and The Association for Research, Communications and Development PUBLIC, aims to enhance the capacity of grassroots CSOs to use social entrepreneurship as a pathway for socio-economic integration of youth into the labour market.
The total budget for this call is EUR 82,850, including co-financing from grant applicants. Grants may cover a maximum of 90% of total eligible costs. Two lots are available: LOT 1 offers a maximum of EUR 7,500 for smaller organisations with annual budgets under EUR 30,000, grassroots CSOs, or those new to donor-funded projects; LOT 2 offers up to EUR 10,000 for more experienced organisations with annual budgets over EUR 30,000 and a proven record in managing external funding.
Projects should have a duration of 8 months and must take place across North Macedonia. Eligible activities include initiatives supporting socio-economic development of local communities with a focus on youth economic empowerment, activities leveraging local knowledge and resources for mentoring youth-inclusive social enterprises, interventions promoting social cohesion and inclusivity, and programs enhancing employment opportunities for marginalised youth.
The eligible target group is young people aged 15 to 29, although other stakeholders can participate if activities directly support the call’s objectives. Applications must include the completed Annexes (Grant Application Form, Budget Proposal Form, Logical Framework Form) and supporting documents such as registration confirmation, statute, financial statements, declaration by the applicant, and CVs of key team members.
