Deadline: 08-Jan-2025
Are you a community-based or non-governmental organisation (CSO/NGO) working on conservation advocacy in Ghana or Liberia? If yes, then the Response and Resilience Strengthening Programme, supported by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) is for you.
This year-long programme aims to equip 14 selected organisations with the tools and strategies to address institutional gaps, strengthen their capacity for resource mobilisation, and influence conservation policy effectively. Participants will engage in training, coaching, and virtual learning events designed to enhance sustainability, resilience, and impact in biodiversity conservation.
The programme consists of training, coaching and learning phases. It will address the technological barriers to the responsiveness and effectiveness of civil society organisations’ engagement in conservation, in Ghana and Liberia. It is a needs-based West Africa Civil Society training that targets sustainability, resilience and efficiency. It will also curate learnings across country partners and enable organisations to speak to and influence conservation policy.
Details of the Course
- Leadership and Induction Meeting (virtual): The leadership and management of the selected organisations in Ghana and Liberia will participate in a 90-minute virtual induction meeting on the programme. During this meeting, WACSI will provide more details of the programme to ascertain the homogeneity of thought by WACSI and the partner organisations.
- Training (4 days): In February and March, WACSI will conduct a 4-day in-person capacity strengthening programme in Ghana and Liberia respectively. The training will address institutional and capacity gaps of organisations focusing on advocacy in conservation and boost their ability to mobilise and diversify their funding sources.
- Coaching: WACSI will use the organisations’ action plans to conduct virtual coaching sessions for them as they implement the strategies and tools they learned from the training. It will also provide mentorship support to the organisations to ensure that their action plans are well-implemented and impactful.
- Learning Events virtual learning meetings (Ghana and Liberia): A key part of the programme is linking partners to each other across countries and building a larger network of actors that learn and support each other. This project will mandate participation in 3 virtual learning sessions, one learning meeting per country and then a joined learning meeting among partners in Ghana and Liberia.
