WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities launched the second cycle of the WRI Ross Center Prize for Cities, a global competition that celebrates transformative urban change.

The WRI Ross Center Prize for Cities is the premier global award celebrating and spotlighting transformative urban change. The Prize is awarded to projects or initiatives based on their contribution to sustainable urban transformation in their cities, including those that:

For the 2020-2021 cycle, the Prize for Cities invites submissions on the theme of “Inclusive Cities for a Changing Climate,” seeking initiatives that show how to live and thrive in a changing climate by tackling both the climate crisis and urban inequality.

Prize Information

One winner will receive the grand prize of US $250,000. There will be four runners-up who will each receive an award in the amount of US $25,000. The prize is awarded as a lump sum to one or several recipients and may be spent at recipients’ discretion.
