U.S. Embassy in Zagreb is seeking proposals from Croatian non-profit organizations for its Small Grants Program for 2017-2018 for funding for projects, workshops, seminars and/or to bring a U.S. expert for a seminar, workshop or similar educational activity.
The program aims to promote exchange of experience and expertise between Americans and Croatians.
Themes
- Anti-corruption training programs for students and teachers, which may include academic honesty and civic engagement and preferably would include a social media campaign and video contest.
- Exchanges of students, faculty and administrators that contribute to campus internationalization at higher education institutions. Projects can include consultations with faculty and staff, curriculum development, lectures and seminars, joint research or practical projects.
- Projects that build capacity in non-governmental organizations which may include professional development for NGO managers, programs on philanthropy or fundraising, and projects that encourage the mutual cooperation and sharing of resources among NGOs in similar sectors.
Funding Information
Grants range from $5,000 to $15,000; grants must be used to fund activities that take place in Croatia;
Priorities
Preference will be given to proposals that:
- Clearly articulate the benefit of the project to Croatia;
- Encourage U.S. – Croatia cultural, scientific and professional exchange;
- Include cost-sharing (part of funding for the project requested or secured from other sources);
- Include a sound plan of follow-up activities and knowledge transfer to the wider public;
- Include a clearly written, detailed budget in US$.
