Deadline: 31-Oct-2025
The Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2025 competition, organized by the Natural History Museum, invites photographers worldwide to showcase their talent and raise awareness about the natural world.
The competition aims to celebrate and promote the beauty and fragility of the natural world through the art of photography. It provides a platform for both emerging and established photographers to gain recognition and contribute to global conservation efforts.
The competition comprises two main categories: the Adult Competition, open to photographers aged 18 and over, and the Young Competition, for those under 18. Within these categories, there are various sub-categories that participants can enter, each focusing on different aspects of wildlife and nature photography. The overall winner will win £300 vouchers for camera gear and social media spotlight and an exhibition feature. Runners-up will get certificates and social media spotlight and an exhibition feature.
Eligibility for the competition requires participants to be individual photographers who comply with the age requirements for their chosen category. Professionals, amateurs, and students can enter, but all images must be original works captured by the entrant. Entries submitted by groups or organizations are not accepted. Photographers may enter multiple images, but each must be submitted separately.
Participants are encouraged to submit their entries in JPEG or PNG format, with a minimum resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Each entry should be accompanied by a caption or story, not exceeding 150 words, to provide context and insight into the photograph. The judging criteria include creativity, relevance to the theme, technical quality, and storytelling.
