The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), under the regional project “Greening the Future, Advancing Rights and Stability” funded by the Government of Denmark, offers a comprehensive capacity-building initiative Green Leadership Programme to civil society organisations (CSOs), community-based organisations (CBOs), and local initiative groups working in Poti, Khobi and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region.
What they aim to achieve?
- The initiative aims to advance their knowledge of green transition issues and provide financial and technical support to implement green initiatives in Poti and Khobi municipalities.
How the programme works?
- The Green Leadership Programme consists of four key components:
- Green Academy
- Alumni Network
- Green Fellowship
- Low-Value Grant Programme
- Green Academy and Green School will equip CSOs, CBOs and local initiative groups with practical and theoretical knowledge and skills to drive climate actions and advocacy.
- After completing the programme, successful participants will join the Green Leadership Alumni Network and be eligible to participate in additional opportunities, contests, and initiatives exclusively designed for network members.
- Most outstanding participants will gain hands-on experience working with leading Georgian organisations in the green transition.
- In addition, within the framework of the low-value grants programme announced exclusively for network members, financial support will be provided to the best grassroots initiatives to drive green and just transition within Khobi and Poti communities.
Who can apply?
- Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) working in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. Priority will be given to organisations:
