The World Food Programme has announced a new call for proposals in West Kordofan, Sudan, aimed at enhancing nutrition interventions to prevent and treat malnutrition among vulnerable populations.
This initiative invites qualified and capable Cooperating Partners (CPs) to collaborate with WFP over a twelve-month period to implement, monitor, and deliver nutrition-related activities. The programme emphasizes the importance of partnerships that leverage complementary expertise and comparative advantages to achieve WFP’s strategic goals and strengthen the overall impact of nutrition assistance in the region.
This call for proposals aligns with WFP’s Sudan Country Strategic Plan (CSP), focusing on Strategic Outcome 1 and Strategic Outcome 2. Both outcomes are designed to ensure that nutritionally vulnerable individuals have consistent access to adequate, safe, and nutritious food. In West Kordofan, where food insecurity and malnutrition continue to affect many households, the initiative represents a vital step toward addressing immediate nutritional needs while building a sustainable foundation for improved food security and community well-being.
Throughout this partnership, WFP and its Cooperating Partners will integrate complementary measures into existing food and nutrition assistance platforms to strengthen their reach and effectiveness. These integrated efforts will not only provide essential food and nutritional support but also enhance the long-term resilience of affected populations. By tackling the root causes of malnutrition and promoting improved nutrition practices, the initiative seeks to create lasting, positive change in community health outcomes.
This call reflects WFP’s ongoing commitment to combating hunger and malnutrition in Sudan through collaboration, innovation, and capacity building. By engaging dedicated partners, WFP aims to improve the nutritional status of vulnerable groups in West Kordofan, ensuring that access to adequate and nutritious food remains at the heart of the country’s journey toward stability and development.
