Nominations Open for the Qatar Digital Business Awards

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) is inviting nominations for Qatar Digital Business Awards for leading digital businesses in Qatar, so that they can be recognized as one of the champions of Qatar’s Digital landscape.

Award Categories

ICT Service Provider of the Year
- This award recognizes the role played by ICT service providers in supporting organizations with the timely provision of services including supplying of hardware and software application hosting, public and hybrid cloud, managed services, managed security storage and disaster recovery, etc. The organization should demonstrate that they achieved significant business success during 2019 – 2021, and can demonstrate high levels of customer satisfaction and business benefits from the users of its products and services.
Systems integrator of the year
- Systems integrators not only deliver huge multi-vendor projects on time and on budget, but also ensure that the end-user organization gets the technology it needs not just for today but also tomorrow. The Systems Integrator of the Year award goes to the enterprise systems integrator that can demonstrate that it places the client’s needs before its own and delivers above and beyond the call of duty. The organization should demonstrate that they achieved significant business success during 2019 – 2021 and can demonstrate high levels of customer satisfaction and business benefits from the users of its products and services.
Mobile App of the year
- This will be awarded to a business that has pioneered an original mobile app or its latest release/version in 2019 – 2021 to help the end user or enhanced the services that a business can offer to its customers. Submissions must be able to quantify the success of the app. This will be awarded to mobile apps that run on mobiles, tablets or W8 or other touchscreen devices or other devices with built-in 3G or 4G capability. These apps should show an innovative use of the technology on the device, and of on-line services.
Cloud Solution of the year
- This award recognizes an organization that provides excellence in cloud-based solutions, services and infrastructure. The Cloud Solution of the Year will be able to demonstrate a high standard of best practice, operational excellence and commercial success. The solutions should be based on IaaS, PaaS or SaaS.
Digital Startup of the year
- Awarded to a new product or service that has delivered measurable benefit for customers, can demonstrate the potential to be an important product for customers in Qatar, and has been developed by a startup in Qatar in 2019 – 2021. The aim of this award is specifically to recognize innovation and achievement in IT product or service development in Qatar.
Smart Solution of the year
- This award is given to businesses or government entity in the Transport, Logistic, Environment, Healthcare or Sports Sector that have developed or deployed Smart Solutions with real-world applications in technology areas such as emerging technology; IoT, and Big Data, etc. They are looking for nominees who have demonstrated originality, creativity and competence in their integration of smart solutions and that are particularly remarkable for their innovative approach and whose service and business insight have helped deliver client satisfaction.
SME Digital Transformation of the year
- Awarded to a SME that has successfully deployed innovative IT tools to enhance their operations and services. This category is open to all Qatari-founded small and medium-size companies, which the number of labour force does not exceed 250 employees, and with an annual turnover that does not exceed QR 100 million.
E-Commerce Solution of the year
- Awarded to an SME that has successfully deployed innovative eCommerce technologies to enhance their operations and services. This category is open to all Qatari-founded small and medium-size companies, which the number of labour force does not exceed 250 employees, and with an annual turnover that does not exceed QR 100 million. Submissions from organizations founded abroad will not be accepted.
Innovative Finntech Solution of the year
- The award is open to organizations that has disrupted the FinTech space through the implementation of new and innovative solutions, challenging the status quo and transforming the industry landscape. This would include product or service that disrupts the payments, Block chain solutions, e-commerce, m-commerce, contactless, mPoS, and mobile wallet among other innovative solutions in the Fintech space.
ICT Exporter of the year
- The award is open to organizations that has taken a lead in exporting ICT services from Qatar to outside. This could be in the form of product or services. This is awarded for organizations that have shown leadership, innovation and resilience in exploring new markets for themselves.
Most Valuable Innovation Response of the year
- Awarded to an organization that has provided an innovative and technological solution, product, or service that was developed as a response to COVID-19. This digital innovation might be a new solution, product, or service or an existing one that has been adapted to fight the pandemic or limit any health, social and economic damage to Qatar.

Eligibility Criteria

This category is open only to Qatari founded companies. Submissions from organizations founded abroad will not be accepted.
The reports, case studies and information included in the nomination cannot be more than 2 years old since operation.

Terms and Conditions

Except for “Smart Solution of the Year” award, categories are open to only Qatari-founded companies. “Smart Solution of the Year” award is exempted from this condition.
Submissions should be based on achievements made during 2019-2021
Only one winner for each category will be awarded
Each category will have only one winner
Any missing mandatory information will result in rejection and rejections will not be informed during the evaluation process
Reaching out to any judges will be considered a disqualification
All material submitted will remain confidential
The judges reserve the right to amend category selections where appropriate
The judges reserve the right to disqualify any entry not accompanied by the appropriate supporting documentation
The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into before or after the judging
No feedback on the submissions will be provided
Entries not made through the on-line submission system will not be accepted
The winners of each category will be announced on Aug. 2021.
