The Fondation Nexans proudly announces its 12th Call for Projects, extending an invitation to NGOs and NPOs worldwide.
The purpose of the Nexans Corporate Foundation is to:
- support sustainable electrification projects designed to help reduce energy poverty and poverty around the world.
- promote training and education for local people in the technical, energy and environmental fields
- to support environmental projects (climate, energy sobriety, protection of resources and biodiversity, etc.) linked to the challenges of electrification.
Eligible Countries
- The commitment of the Nexans Group’s employees to the projects carried out by the Nexans Foundation is essential. This is why they give priority to the countries in which the Group is present:
- Projects in countries where they are not present can be still selected at the discretion of the committee if they meet all the other criteria’s (e.g. Cameroon; Madagascar; Benin; Senegal; Malawi; Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Island, Tonga, Cook Island)
Eligibility Criteria
- By submitting a project, you agree to:
- Be international NGOs or recognized associations (i.e.: law 1901 in France).
- Exist for at least 2 years.
- Be in possession of a tax ruling.
- Be in line with the Foundation’s corporate purpose.
- Submit a project using renewable energy (RE).
- Report on the progress and results of the project by sending regular interim and final activity reports (testimonies, photos, financial reports, details of activities, achievement of objectives, project perspectives, etc.).
- Abide by NEXANS’ Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
- To be eligible, the project must:
- Present a detailed budget and timeline for the duration of the project.
- Have obtained or be able to obtain sufficient co-financing: the realization of a financing plan when applying for a grant is essential to distinguish between grants already obtained, and those that are missing or in the process of being obtained. The financial commitment of the Nexans Foundation depends on the ability of the project to have sufficient co-financing to guarantee the feasibility of the project.
- Involve the beneficiaries and have the support of local stakeholders, in a logic of partnership.
- Ensure the sustainability of the project when the NGO carrying out the project disengages.
- Include a “monitoring” component supported by the NGO (monitoring of objectives, activities, results, impacts, etc.).
- Present a “maintenance” component financed and detailed over at least 3 years.
- Contribute to the achievement of at least three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Be based on an analysis of locally expressed needs in the field, be realistic, achievable and measurable in terms of results and impact.
- Be able to assess the impacts of the project according to social, economic and environmental indicators, which will be predefined with the Nexans Foundation and relevant to the purpose of the project and monitored over time.
- To federate the initiatives of the Nexans Group’s sites and employees.
Ineligible
- The following projects will be excluded:
- those carried out by for-profit companies or companies.
- Projects already completed at the time of application.
- Those which fall under individual objectives.
- Those which could pose a risk of conflict of interest.
- Those are part of a private collection process or a commercial approach.
- They do not fund:
- Individual projects (scholarships, studies, trips)
- Operating Expenses
- Filmmaking
- Event-based activities (shows, galas, conferences, sporting events)
