The U.S. Embassy Kigali is seeking applications for the Ambassador’s Special Self-Help Fund (ASSHF) which will improve basic economic and social conditions at the grassroots level.
Proposed projects to be implemented in Nyamagabe, Nyaruguru, Nyamasheke, and Gisagara districts are particularly encouraged. Projects must support high-impact activities that benefit many people and involve local.
Funding Information
- Length of performance period: 12 months
- Number of awards anticipated: Approximately 3-5 awards (dependent on amounts and availability of funds).
- Award amounts: Awards may range from a minimum of $1,000 to a maximum of $15,000
- Anticipated program start date: September 30, 2022
Eligibility Criteria
Organizations selected from the SOI and invited to submit a full proposal must also meet these eligibility criteria:
- Cooperatives registered with the Rwanda Cooperative Agency or
- Nongovernmental organizations registered with the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB).
- If a nongovernmental organization is not registered, it still can be considered if it submits a justification describing why it is not yet registered and submit proof of its association (bylaws, articles of association, or similar) and proof of its active attempts to register.
