The Anglo American is accepting applications for the Community Grants Program to support sustainable development initiatives that make a lasting, positive contribution to the communities where they operate.
The Community Grants Program is one of the ways they share the benefits of mining with the communities.
Priorities

- Environment
- Health and wellbeing
- Livelihoods
Eligible Activities
- Permitted Activities
- Capacity development
- Sports, arts, culture and heritage
- Community development
- Health and wellbeing
- Environment
- Energy and climate change
- Disaster and emergency relief
- Education and training
Eligibility Criteria
- To receive funding, organisations must
- have an ABN;
- be a community organisation, or not-for-profit group, or government agency, and
- provide services or manage sustainable community initiatives which contribute to the well-being and development of the local communities.
- Organisations must also be based, or operate in Moranbah, Middlemount, Moura, Banana and Theodore. All documentation must be provided when the application is submitted.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Ineligible Activities
- Party political activities
- Projects that are the responsibility of the local, state or federal government
- Activities which are primarily of a religious nature
- Professional sporting activities, sport apparel; and lawn mowers
- Commercial activities
- Any activities which break the law or Anglo-American policies and standards
- Applications from individuals seeking support for overseas travel or fundraising events
