The Children’s Week Grants Program facilitate and encourage children and their families to celebrate, play, and discover together.
Funding is offered for events and activities that celebrate the health, development and well-being of children.
Children’s Week is an annual national event held during October across Australia, dedicated to celebrating the children. Children’s Week caters for children aged between 0-12 years.
Whilst this year’s theme is based on UNCRC Article 42 “Everyone should know about Children’s Rights”.
Funding Information
- The total amount of funding available for Children’s Week Grants is $20,000.
- You may request up to $1,000
Eligible Activities
- They will fund:
- Types of activities
- Projects within the City of Greater Geelong’s municipal boundaries
- Activities that are free to attend
- Activities for children aged 0-12 years Activities that link to an UNCRC Article.
- Active/Physical focus – Active play, outdoor activities, food related activities, dance, music, outings to a play centre, culture specific activities.
- Emotional/Mental Health focus – sand play, dress up party, story time, culture specific activities, yoga, mindfulness, music, craft, meditation, parent session relating to mental health.
- Environmental/ Nature based activities –outings or within your own outdoor space, culture specific activities, nature crafts.

Eligibility Criteria
- Being eligible means, you can receive a grant, but it does not guarantee funding. To apply for this grant, you must be one of the following:
- incorporated not-for-profit organisation
- unincorporated group with an auspice
- registered charitable organisation
- school or learning institution (only for non-curriculum-based activities that primarily benefit the wider community)
- Early Years services.
Ineligibility Criteria
- You are not eligible to apply if you are any of the following:
- business
- individuals operating as sole traders (with an active ABN)
- individual (without an ABN)
- City of Greater Geelong operated Early Years Services
- previous applicant with an outstanding acquittal for grant funding from the City
- applicant who has not complied with the terms of a previous funding agreement
