The Ireland Funds is accepting applications for the Community Impact Fund to contribute much needed funds to organisations supporting communities across Great Britain and Northern Ireland, whether or not of Irish descent.
Priorities
- Within the four pillars (Community Development, Peace, Education & Culture), they will prioritise applications from organisations working in the following spaces. However, if your project falls out of these headers, you are still welcome to apply.
- Relief of Poverty and Hardship
- The avoidance of hardship by supporting vulnerable members of society, whether or not of Irish descent, and servicing basic/critical needs.
- Education and Training
- Reconnecting people of all ages with education and employment opportunities
- Reskilling and upskilling, in particular the older generation
- Relief of Poverty and Hardship
Funding Information
- This year, charities will apply for grants of £10,000 to fund projects of significant impact.
- The final award offered is at the discretion of the Grants Committee and the IFGB Board. If your project does not require a grant of £10,000, you will have the opportunity to apply for a grant of £2,000 and state this in your application.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only not-for-profit and charitable organisations with an average annual income of less than €/£1m can apply for funding. Organisations with an annual turnover exceeding this amount are not eligible for funding in this round.
- Grants will not be made to individuals.
- Organisations may submit only one application and applications should be submitted under one Funding Priority area only
- Applications must only be submitted electronically through the grant portal, Plinth. Hard copy or emailed applications will not be accepted.
- Applications must be for project funding, but requests for salaries will be considered. Requests for other core costs will not be eligible this year.
- Only organisations based within Great Britain and Northern Ireland are eligible to apply.
- The project or activity for which you are seeking funding must take place within Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
- Grants will not be made to organisations for projects which have completed, or for the repayment of debt.
Ineligibility Criteria
- The IFGB Community Impact Fund will not provide support for:
- Tuition, course fees, accreditation costs
- Medical expenses
- Purchase of buildings or land
- Construction or refurbishment projects
- Travel expenses (transportation, accommodation, field trips)
- Consultancy fees
- Purchase of vehicles
