Human Rights and Justice Program and Public Health Program, initiative of the International Renaissance Foundation are seeking applications for a program entitled “Safe Community-Common Interest, Joint Responsibility”.
The purpose of the competition is to support the formation of sustained ties at the level of territorial communities that promote the implementation of police accountability, community involvement in identifying and addressing community security issues, establishing and maintaining law and order, preventing crime, developing a safe community in a community based on the dialogue of various stakeholders at the level the community
Priorities
- building of sustainable interaction between different stakeholders in communities on the principles of inclusiveness of different groups;
- developing practices for identifying local security issues by involving active members of local communities and joint development of interaction models between different actors to create a safe environment;
- to develop and promote the implementation of security and law enforcement programs at the level of local communities based on the identified needs of the community in security;
- creation in cooperation with local authorities of structures (platforms / platforms) that, in cooperation with the police and other interested parties, carry out active educational, educational activities aimed at crime prevention, strengthening of law and order and local security;
- the formation of a practice of accountability of territorial communities to the activities of the police on the ground.
Grant Information
- The maximum grant size is 700 000 UAH.
- The maximum project term is 12 months .
Eligibility Criteria
- To participate in the competition are invited: non-profit organizations, in particular charitable organizations, public associations (including public organizations and unions), which:
- have a non-profit or charitable organization status and are officially registered in Ukraine;
- have experience of active work in the field of human rights protection, monitoring of the work of state and / or municipal authorities, development of community capacity (or such partners are the key partners of the submitted project proposal);
- Have the capacity to implement and report on grant projects (including financial reporting).
- Proposals from organizations that do not meet the formal requirements listed above will not be considered. The contest does not provide grants to lucrative organizations, political parties, state authorities, local governments, religious communities and private (physical) individuals and entrepreneurs.
