The Alexandrina Council is accepting applications for the Small Grants Program.
Council recognises the importance of supporting community groups to undertake activities that benefit the people and help the communities to thrive. Council also understands the value generated from supporting individuals to undertake development opportunities that encourage active citizenship, capacity building and personal growth.
Funding Information
- Individuals can apply for up to $250.
- Community Groups can apply for up to $1,000.
- Applicants can request both in-kind and cash amounts according to their specific needs to a combined total of $1,000. A total of $20,000 has been allocated to the Small Grants Program in 2024-25.
What type of activities will be funded?
- Community Groups
- Council is seeking to fund community-led projects that contribute towards creating a Liveable, Green and Connected Alexandrina and support the communities to thrive.
- Individuals
- Applications are invited from individuals residing within the Alexandrina Council area to undertake personal development opportunities within one of the following four categories:
- Arts, Culture, Music and Dance
- Sport and Recreation
- Community Participation and Leadership
- Education and Training
- Applications are invited from individuals residing within the Alexandrina Council area to undertake personal development opportunities within one of the following four categories:
Eligibility Criteria
- Not-for profit community groups, charities or comparable organisations, or
- individuals residing within the Alexandrina Council region, are eligible to apply for the Small Grants Program.
What will not be funded?
- Projects or activities occurring outside the Alexandrina Council region (except for applications by individuals applying for personal development opportunities)
- Applications that do not adequately meet the assessment criteria outlined overleaf
- Applications that do not establish any benefit to the Alexandrina community
- Requests for ongoing operational or administrative costs
- Reimbursement of funds already spent, for activities already held or which have already commenced
