The Wildlife Acoustics is proud to offer a quarterly grant program that supports the advancement of wildlife research, habitat monitoring, and environmental conservation.
Scientists may apply for a product grant to advance the study of bats, birds, amphibians, and other terrestrial wildlife—or a travel grant to help them attend a conference with their peers.
Grant Types
- Standard Product Grant: Recorders & Software
- Software-Only Grant
- Do you only need analysis software? They have streamlined the application process for the quarterly software grant. Selected recipients will receive one or more annual Kaleidoscope Pro licenses.
- Travel Grant
- This grant is for early-career professionals using Wildlife Acoustics recorders and/or software who want to present a talk or poster at an upcoming conference.
Funding Information
- Standard Product Grant: Recorders & Software
- Each quarter, they will award up to $12,000 USD in eligible products to selected grant recipients worldwide. Individual applicants may request recorders, accessories, and software licenses totaling up to $4,000 USD.
- Travel Grant
- They will award one individual up to $1,000 USD each quarter to cover conference expenses, including registration, transportation, and lodging fees.
Eligibility Criteria
- Standard Product Grant and Software-Only Grant
- Accessories carried by Wildlife Acoustics for use with the Song Meter Mini 2, Mini Bat 2, and Micro 2 are eligible for the program. However, third-party accessories like SD cards, batteries (except lithium-ion), battery chargers, padlocks, and cable locks not carried by Wildlife Acoustics are not eligible.
- US or non-US government agencies are not eligible for the program.
- Due to the volume of applications, you may only apply for one project per quarter.
- Annual Kaleidoscope Pro analysis software subscriptions are eligible as part of the Standard Grant Program and/or the Software-Only Grant Program. There is a streamlined application for those who wish to apply for a Software-Only Grant.
- Travel Grant
- Master’s students, PhD students, and postdocs using Wildlife Acoustics recorders and/or analysis software who want to present a talk or poster at an upcoming conference qualifies for the travel grant.
