Deadline: 31 March 2017
Applications are open for France-New-Zealand Friendship Fund 2017 Grants to provide financial assistance to projects which promote friendship and understanding between the people of France and New Zealand.
It has Boards in New Zealand and France, which meet annually to award grants to projects which meet the Fund’s objectives of promoting friendship and understanding between the two countries. There is an emphasis on young people – typical projects include school exchanges, historical research, and cultural activities.
Theme
Climate Change: Climate change has also been proposed as a theme for 2016 projects. Applications on this theme which fit the Fund’s criteria will be considered.
Eligibility Criteria
- Projects should encourage on-going contact and exchanges between the two countries; promote the exchange of information and knowledge about each country; and enhance the understanding of respective lifestyles, cultures, tastes and environments.
- Applicants must be New Zealand or French citizens and be normally resident in New Zealand, France or the French Pacific territories.
- Projects must take place in New Zealand, France and/or the French Pacific.
- Projects which benefit the wider community are favoured. Funding for individual travel and study is unlikely to be given high priority.
- Projects should be ‘visible’ and have a strong people-to-people content.
- Grants are made normally for projects which can be completed within 12 months (though provision can be made for longer term projects).
