Funding Information
- Local Sporting Champions Grant:
- The following grants are available under 3 sporting event tiers:
- Queensland sporting event – up to $250 per applicant
- National sporting event – up to $500 per applicant
- International sporting event – up to $1,000 per applicant.
- The following grants are available under 3 sporting event tiers:
- Time to Shine – Women in Sport Grant:
- The following grants are available under 3 sporting event tiers:
- Queensland sporting event – up to $250 per applicant
- National sporting event – up to $500 per applicant
- International sporting event – up to $1,000 per applicant
- The following grants are available under 3 sporting event tiers:
- Thriving Communities Grant:
- The grant will allow up $1,000 in financial assistance per organisation for projects, programs or initiatives.
Eligible Projects
- Thriving Communities Grant:
- Projects, programs or initiatives with a charitable purpose can apply for this grant. Examples of the kinds of projects, programs or initiatives that may receive grants include:
- education/training
- emergency systems
- mental health support
- improving infrastructure
- purchase of equipment
- urban greening
- reducing climate risk
- Projects, programs or initiatives with a charitable purpose can apply for this grant. Examples of the kinds of projects, programs or initiatives that may receive grants include:
Eligibility Criteria
- Local Sporting Champions – Men in Sport Grant:
- Applicants that are eligible to apply for this grant are males who:
- have not received funding from Magpies Community Grants within the past 12 months
- have competed or officiated (as an athlete, coach, referee or scorer) at a representative selection or competitive criteria sporting event – Queensland, National or International. Invitational sporting events are in ineligible
- have participation at the sporting event confirmed by a coach, manager or sports governing body
- are residents of Mackay
- complete and submit the application within 3 months post the sporting event date.
- Applicants that are eligible to apply for this grant are males who:
- Time to Shine – Women in Sport:
- Applicants that are eligible to apply for this grant are females who:
- have not received funding from Magpies Community Grants within the past 12 months
- have competed or officiated (as an athlete, coach, referee or scorer) at a representative selection or competitive criteria sporting event – Queensland, National or International. Invitational sporting events are in ineligible

- have not received funding from Magpies Community Grants within the past 12 months
- whose project, program or initiative will directly benefit the Mackay community
- who are based in Mackay.
