The Wimmera Southern Mallee Development is inviting applications for its Murra Warra Wind Farm Community Grants Program to support not-for-profit groups in the Horsham, Hindmarsh and Yarriambiack municipalities.
The wind farm is owned by Squadron Energy and this grants program is the company’s way of giving back to the community where this renewable energy asset is hosted.
Grant Categories
- Sustainable environmental projects
- Education and training initiatives
- Social health and wellbeing activities
- Sport and recreational projects
- Cultural diversity and arts programs
Funding Information
- Small Grants:
- You can apply for up to $5,000. Your groupwill not be required to match this grant dollar for dollar.
- Large Grants:
- You can apply for up to $20,000. No matching funds are required for the first $5,000, but your group will be required to match funds for the remainder amount on a 1:2 ratio.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for a grant, your group must be not-for-profit and operate in the the Horsham Rural City, Hindmarsh Shire or Yarriambiack Shire.
- You can apply for a grant even if your group has received a grant from this program in the past.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Please note, funding will NOT be provided for:
- Any activity or project that has already started or been finished.
- Projects that repair and maintain assets or projects that are the responsibility of local, state or federal governments.
- Projects that repair, maintain, or enhance religious assets.
- Recurrent operating costs.
- Salary subsidy event management.
- Routine/cyclical maintenance funding.
- Purchasing alcohol.
- You to sponsor someone.
