Applications are now open for the ARTS Impact West Australian (WA) Grant to provide new funding avenues for artists and arts organisations to realise ambitious and unique arts and cultural projects and experiences.
Objectives
- Through their grants, ARTS Impact WA’s aim is to make great art happen in WA and its objectives are:
- To back courageous and talented West Australian artists and arts organisations
- To help realise ambitious and unique arts projects
- To build a sense of community and cultural capacity in WA
- To inspire additional government and private sector support
- To support projects that are accessible and have a broad reach
- To connect artists, arts organisations and supporters for greater impact
Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals and Collectives
- Practicing artists or a group of artists with a professional track record (min 3 years) who are able to provide evidence of their practice and achievement
- Australian citizens or permanent residents residing and working in WA for a minimum of 12 months
- Aged 18 years or over
- Must have an ABN
- Must have a confirmed producing/ presenting/publishing partner to help them achieve their project goal
- There is no limit to the turnover of producing/presenting or publishing partners. The auspice and partner organisation can be the same organisation or different, however both must be a legally constituted entity.
- Auspice organisation
- Individuals or collectives may prefer to engage an auspice organisation to support them with administrative requirements such as financial management, budgeting, contract administration and insurance.
- The auspice organisation may be selected at the individual’s or collective’s discretion
- ARTS Impact WA preferred auspice supplier is Auspicious Arts. For a 5% fee they offer financial management, budgeting, contract administration support, as well as basic insurances. For more information about their services.
- Shortlisted applicants may be required to engage an auspice organisation to support with the administration of funds. This decision is at the Committee’s discretion and is informed by the due diligence process. Shortlisted applicants may decline the auspice request but may forfeit their shortlisting.
- Arts Organisations
- Registered not-for-profit organisation, as defined by the ATO
- Based in Western Australia with the majority of the activities or practice serving the WA community
- Operating for the primary purpose of providing arts and cultural opportunities for Western Australian artists, audiences or the community
- Must be a legally constituted entity
- Must have an ABN
- Arts organisations with an annual turnover of less than $3m
- Operating for a minimum of three years
Exclusions
- Personal training and development (such as international study or PHDs)
- General ongoing administration costs of an organisation such as electricality, phone and rent and business as usual expenses
- Organisations with a turnover of over $3m
- Schools, school groups or tertiary training institutions (incl. permanent full-time employees)
- Religious or political groups and organisations
- Retrospective payments, debt reduction or operational deficits
- Travel outside Australia
