The Barwon Water is pleased to announce the Community Grants Program for community groups, sporting teams and local events.
The new program isn’t just about saving water. The objective is to help fund local projects that enhance the service region.
Funding Information
- They offer funding between $500 and $5000.
Eligible Projects
- Eligible projects or initiatives within the service region that tick one of these boxes:
- Making the community a better place to live – for example, creating a new event, public art or expanding local skills.
- Helping people to be active and connected – for example, rowing lessons, running races or art classes.
- Improving the local environment – for example, cleaning local waterways, planting trees or tidying parks.
- Encouraging social inclusion – for example, events that are open to all abilities or sharing cultural experiences.
- Saving water for the region – for example, recycled water, installing water efficient appliances or capturing and using greywater outdoors.
Eligibility Criteria
- Projects must provide benefit to a significant number of community members, determined at the discretion of Barwon Water.
- The funded project must be completed within one calendar year of the funding being awarded.
- Organisations who have previously received Community Grant funding from Barwon Water are ineligible.
- When applying, a schedule of works and at least two written quotes must be provided.
- When applying, you must provide evidence of all necessary permits, licenses, and insurances which will enable you to run your project.
- Your group or event must be located within the service region.
- Your group or event can be a registered association, charity, sports team, volunteer group, incorporated body or educational facility.
- You must have a bank account in the group or team’s name, they cannot pay into private bank accounts.
