The BEARR Trust is calling out for applications for the BEARR Trust Small Grants Scheme 2025 to foster cooperation and partnerships, in the belief that this is fundamental to the operation of successful Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).
In 2023-4 the focus of much of BEARR’s work has been on Ukraine and Moldova, with the Ukraine Emergency Appeal at the forefront of activities. This effort will continue in 2025, but the main Small Grants Scheme will cover most of the countries with which they work.
Strands
- Strand A: For projects on the theme “Joint projects that support the integration and inclusion of vulnerable people into their local community”.
- Strand B (for Ukraine only): For projects to support the welfare of staff and volunteers, and organisational resilience.
Funding Information
- Strand A
- The maximum amount requested from BEARR must not exceed £4,000.
- Strand B
- Include the proposed total project budget of up to £1,000 in GB pounds.
Eligibility Criteria
- Strand A
- This strand will be open to CSOs in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.Strand A applications should be a joint application from two or more partner organisations.
- Priority will be given to new partnerships or pre-existing partnerships showing clear signs of development.
- Strand B
- This strand will be open only to organisations in Ukraine which have received earlier support from BEARR, whether through the Small Grants Scheme or the Ukraine Emergency Appeal.
Application Requirements
- Strand A
- Your application will not be considered if:
- You did not use the application form provided on the website.
- The application exceeds 5 pages. Your application must fit onto 5 standard pages (application on 4 pages, plus the budget on 1 separate page, as a Word document or an Excel sheet).
- The application is received after the deadline (i.e., if it is received after 31 January).
- The application does not address the theme.
- The application is not submitted as a joint project between two or more organisations.
- You request a contribution from BEARR that is more than 50% of your total project budget.
- Over 20% of the requested funding from BEARR will be spent on tech purchases.
- The application does not include a clear description of the project’s activities and beneficiaries.
- The application is not in English.
- Application covers work in a country that is not included in the announcement.
- Your application will not be considered if:
- Strand B
- Your application will not be considered if:
- You did not use the application form provided on the website.
- The application exceeds 4 pages. Your application must fit onto 4 standard pages (application on 3 pages, plus the budget on 1 separate page, as a Word document or an Excel sheet).
- The application is received after the deadline (i.e., if it is received on 1 February or later).
- Your application does not address the improvement of the welfare of your organisation’s staff and volunteers, and the organisation’s resilience.
- Application does not include a clear description of the project’s activities and beneficiaries.
- Project proposal is not in English.
- Application comes from a country that is not included in the announcement.
- Your application will not be considered if:
