The United States Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management is seeking applications from the eligible organisations for a program entitled “Alaska, Invasive, Rare Species and Vegetation Monitoring” for field inspections, monitoring, and data collection to determine public land health focused on rare and invasive plants.
Goals
- Rare Plant Goals
- Identify, conserve, and monitor rare and vulnerable habitats and plant communities to ensure a self-sustaining persistence of Special Status Species plants.
- Manage habitats consistent with the conservation needs of Special Status Species and in a manner that will not contribute to the need to list any species under the Endangered Species Act.
- Increase knowledge of sensitive status plant species location through continued inventory. Manage to conserve known populations of sensitive species.
- Support the conservation of T&E, special status species, and species of local importance. Invasive Species and General Vegetation.
- Invasive Plant Management Goals
- Prevent the introduction and spread of invasive and noxious plants.
- Maintain proper functioning condition.
- The BLM will maintain and protect vegetative land cover that provides for healthy fish and wildlife habitat on BLM-managed lands.
Funding Information
- The expected individual award amount for this fiscal year is $ 56,500.00.
- The total funding expected to be awarded through this announcement is $250,000.00.
