The Mornington Peninsula Shire is seeking applications for its Business Association COVID-19 Recovery Grant to support initiatives by local business associations to fund innovative projects and activities to boost economic community-led COVID-19 recovery.
This program is designed to provide recovery and resilience opportunities for the business community through programs, projects, or activities run by their member associations.
Desired Outcomes
- Support economic recovery for the Mornington Peninsula.
- Support innovative short and medium-term programs, projects, or activities that benefit groups of businesses or industries that have been affected by COVID-19.
- Activate community spending and support for local businesses.
- Increase employment opportunities.
- Provide opportunities to increase business resilience.
Funding Information
- Funding up to $3,000 is available.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for consideration for funding, the project/activity must:
- Take place within the Mornington Peninsula Shire Local Government area or have direct outcomes that benefit businesses within the Shire.
- Be completed within 12 months of funding, with quarterly milestone reporting.
- This program is open to not for profit, incorporated business associations (registered by Consumer Affairs Victoria), based in the Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Local Government area.
- ABN and incorporation status must be identified in the application.
- Only one application per association can be accepted. Projects previously funded by Council are not eligible.
- Applicants must have the appropriate type and level of insurance for the activities that are the subject of this grant.
- Does not owe any money or reports (acquittal) as a result of previous Shire funding or grants.
Assessment Criteria
Projects/programs which:
- Are consistent with their Prosperity Community Outcomes in the Council Plan 2017-21.
- Encourage business capacity building.
- Display an innovative approach to meeting business needs.
- Target an identified area or sector of need.
- Increase employment opportunities.
- Stimulate economic expenditure.
- Provide a dollar-for-dollar contribution either financial or in kind.
- Demonstrate value for money.
