Deadline: 15 July 2016
The Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” (EVZ) is currently inviting applicants for a programme entitled “recommendations for action in the fight against antisemitism and antigypsyism” with an aim to support civil society actors in their efforts to combat the discrimination and marginalisation of Jews and Roma with long-term effect.
The Theme of the Programme will be on “Systematic inventory of antisemitic and antigypsyist phenomena, counter strategies and civil society actors; producing recommendations for action”.
Goals
- For each country, the available regional, national and international data on antisemitism and antigypsyism are to be evaluated in order to produce an inventory of current research into the two phenomena. Sources of information could include relevant reports by UN organisations, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights, national institutes, and international human rights organisations and foundations.
- Working together with academics and civil-society experts, in each country the project will identify the key actors, project formats and interventions that have demonstrated distinct signs of change and impact.
- Summary reports are to be produced with target-group-specific recommendations for relevant public and civil society institutions. They will contain a description of the current situation (backed by data), information on the background/interrelationships, and recommendations on how civil society can strengthen its commitment to combating antisemitism and antigypsyism and how it can be effectively supported in this task. Best-practice formats will be presented.
- The reports can be written in the language of the respective country. In addition, an English language summary of the results and recommendations will also be submitted.
- The results are to be presented and disseminated at national level and published on the internet.
