The International Dialogue Centre is requesting applications for its Arab Region Dialogue Initiatives to focus on building bridges between diverse religious, ethnic, political, and regional communities.
Focus Areas
- Countering & preventing hate Speech in the name of religion on national /regional level.
- Enhancing the role of Interreligious dialogue and Intra-religious dialogue in responding to crises. Preference will be given to interfaith initiatives focusing on community engagement and responses to national crises amongst vulnerable groups (elderly, people with special health conditions, women, children, and refugees, etc.)
- Incorporating principles of Interreligious Education and Common Citizenship in IRD initiatives to promote social cohesion and peaceful coexistence.
- Promoting the protection of cultural heritage and sacred and holy sites.
Approach
- The following methods, approaches and formats can be used to address the topics:
- Advocacy for policy changes.
- Capacity-building (preferably online workshops and trainings).
- Traditional/social media engagement, live streaming events, broadcasting, radio programs, TV programs, short videos, documentaries, etc.
- Knowledge exchange.
- Awareness raising.
- Policy papers, booklets, infographics, articles, and blogs.
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT) such as mobile phone Applications (Apps), text messages and push notifications.
Funding Information
- Possible grants for individuals are up to 4500 Euro and for organizations up to 7000 Euro and will be evaluated based on specific selection criteria.
- Duration: Projects should be fully implemented within a four-month or a six-month period (depending on the duration of the project) from March 15th to September 15th.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Dialogue 360 project targets organizations and institutions as well as individuals who can support intra and interfaith efforts to respond to the themes identified in this call. More specifically, these partners include the following entities:
- Interfaith/interreligious dialogue platforms, organizations, and networks.
- Religious leaders and faith-based organizations (FBOs).
- Youth and women organizations and other civil society organizations.
- Social media influencers and bloggers.
- For previous beneficiaries of the Dialogue360 project, new applications will only be considered if the partner has received no more than one or two grants in total. If a partner has already been awarded three grants, they must wait a period of two years before reapplying. This policy is intended to ensure that more partners could benefit from the funding.
- For diverse fellowship programmes in the Arab region, eligibility for new applications requires that at least one year has passed since they received their last learning grant. This ensures that fellows have adequate time to implement their previous funding before seeking additional support.
Application Requirements
- Proposals might include more than one method and multiple formats.
- Only proposals consisting of an application form (online google form), a project workplan and timeframe, the monitoring and evaluation plan, and a detailed budget will be considered.
- Uploading a CV (for individual) and a registration certificate for the institutions and organizations
- Preference will be given to joint proposals submitted by two organizations or more.
